BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH
For nearly four decades, the country has recognized October as National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. it is a time annually devoted to educate everyone about breast cancer and the importance of early detection and access to timely high-quality care. Today we are wearing pink in observance of our loved ones, friends and all who have been affected by this disease.

The Missionary Society of St Vincent de Paul will host their 26th Annual Appreciation Luncheon on Saturday, October 24, 2026 at St Philip Neri Catholic Church, 10960 Martin Luther King Blvd., Houston, TX. Please pick up a flyer in the rear of the church with more information.

LITURGICAL MINISTRIES
You can support our liturgical ministries by offering your time and talents as a volunteer. Together, we can make a difference and bless our church, parish and community.
Here are some ways you can help:
- Ministers of the Word (Lectors): Proclaim the scriptures during Mass.
- Eucharistic Ministers: Assist the clergy in distributing Holy Communion.
- Hospitality/Ushers: Greet parishioners, assist with seating, hand out flyers and weekly bulletins, and take up the collection.
- Altar Servers: Assist the priest at the altar during Mass and special liturgies.
- Music Ministry: Join/Support the choir by singing, donating musical instruments, or playing an instrument.
- Sacristans & Environment: Set up liturgical vessels or help decorate the church for different seasons.
By working together, we can make a difference!

CCE ATTENDANCE
The CCE program focuses on spiritual growth and the understanding of the Gospel teachings to our youth. Parents the ultimate goal is youth participation and attendance. In this year of ACM, we are urging all of the parishioners of Our Mother of Mercy to make a pledge so that we, the Catholic Church, can make a difference in the lives of people throughout the 9 counties of our diocese and right here in our Parish and our neighbors. VIRTUS REGISTRATION UPDATE
There are certain requirements that must be followed in the Diocese when being a volunteer for the church. All Volunteer ministries must be Virtus trained and be in compliance to volunteer. If you are a team leader, you must submit to the office a listing of your team members and verify they have been Virtus trained. We still have parishioners who are NOT in compliance. It costs you no money. We hope to share the priest’s daily reflections on the readings of the day, especially for those who cannot attend weekday masses.
VISITORS ARE WELCOME HERE
You are always welcome to our parish. If you are a visitor, please indicate by a wave of your hand to be acknowledged. We are glad you have chosen to worship with us and welcome you into our midst, and pray that God may bless you. Our ushers will have a welcoming package for you at the end of mass.
BIRTHDAYS AND ANNIVERSARIES
We encourage you to request Masses on your birthday and/or anniversary. Please send your mass request at the beginning of the month to the office. On the LAST SUNDAY of each month, those who celebrated their birthday and/or anniversary during the month, will be called to the altar to receive a blessing and immediately afterwards, we will fellowship and enjoy light refreshments in the hall.
Please join us next Sunday, September 27th, for our monthly fellowship for those celebrating birthdays and anniversaries in the month of September.
LET EVERYTHING PRAISE THE LORD
To make our worship of God livelier, Fr. Francis is appealing for donations of guitars, tambourines, xylophones, saxophones and musical drums. If God touches your heart to donate any, please do so. May God Bless you!
COMMUNION VISITS
Communion visits are available to the sick and homebound every Sunday. Please contact the church office for more information.
CANDLE PURCHASE
Starting April 1, 2026, the cost of individual candles will be $4 per candle and $45 for a case of candles.

It is a wonderful and beautiful part of our Catholic tradition to offer a mass for a loved one, living or deceased. Several dates are available for mass intentions at a cost of $5 dollars
