It is with great joy and gratitude that we invite you to a truly historic occasion in the life of our parish community. On August 1, 2026, Father Francis Anozie, MSP will be formally installed as Pastor of Our Mother of Mercy Parish, Ames, and Sacred Heart Parish, Raywood — a sacred rite celebrated within the context of a full Mass at 4:00 p.m., followed immediately by a reception and celebration in the church hall from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

The Installation of a Pastor by a bishop is one of the most significant moments in the life of a Catholic parish. During this solemn rite, the pastor publicly renews his oath of fidelity before the bishop, pledging to shepherd his flock in unity with the Church — placing the spiritual care of the parish directly under apostolic authority. For Father Francis, this installation is both a profound personal honor and a sacred call to serve; for our parishes, it marks a new and graced chapter in our shared journey of faith.

Adding even greater reason for celebration, this beautiful occasion also coincides with Father Francis's 60th Birthday on July 27th. We are blessed that His Excellency, Most Reverend David L. Toups, S.Th.D., Bishop of the Diocese of Beaumont, will preside over this ceremony — a distinction that reflects the esteem and affection our diocese holds for Father Francis and our parish communities.
